About the position

The Orthopedics Limited Permit Radiology Tech position at Billings Clinic is a per diem role responsible for operating radiographic equipment to obtain ordered radiographs under the supervision of a registered radiologic technologist or radiologist. This position involves performing limited radiographic procedures, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and providing excellent patient care in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate radiographic equipment to obtain ordered radiographs.
• Position patients and adjust equipment for proper exposure settings.
• Process images following established procedures.
• Perform non-complex radiographic procedures according to Montana State permit limitations.
• Prepare examination rooms, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Ensure all exams are checked by a registered radiologic technologist for critique and approval.
• Prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures to them.
• Demonstrate awareness of radiation safety for patients and staff.
• Assist patients at the end of examinations and inform management of any concerns.
• Assist with Quality Improvement programs and maintain inventory of supplies.
• Perform clerical tasks such as patient processing and image file maintenance.
• Float to various departments and clinics as needed.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience in a health-related field or completion of one year in a Radiologic Technology educational program.
• Current Montana license as a X-Ray Limited Permit Tech or equivalent.
