About The Position

The OSP Construction Inspector role at WIVERSE involves overseeing and inspecting the work of contractors to ensure quality control and compliance with contracts for fiber construction projects. This position requires conducting independent daily site inspections, documenting construction progress, and ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulations. The role is primarily on-site in Hoover, AL, with opportunities for remote work and requires significant travel across the state.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years working with Fiber OSP & ISP.
• High school diploma or associate's degree required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Visio).
• Strong computer skills including Adobe Acrobat and Google Earth.

Nice To Haves

• Basic understanding of web application infrastructure and front-end/database technologies.
• Field measuring and audit verification techniques.

Responsibilities

• Oversees, inspects, and monitors contractual field work including excavations, boring, and fiber cable installation.
• Schedules work and inspection phases with contractor's superintendent and agency personnel.
• Advises contractors of violations and recommends adjustments to operations.
• Takes field measurements to verify contractor billing and performs quality reviews of construction.
• Maintains project records including daily diaries, materials notebooks, and as-built plans.
• Evaluates and monitors progress schedules, prepares work orders, and monthly estimates.
• Manages warehouse inventory responsibilities including vendor outfitting and cable inventory management.
• Provides on-site support during major outages or sensitive network impacts.
