About the position

The OSP Construction Inspector role at WIVERSE (a DELACAN company) involves overseeing and inspecting fiber construction projects to ensure quality control and compliance with contractual obligations. This position requires conducting independent daily site inspections, documenting construction progress, and ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulations. The role is hybrid, allowing for remote work, but requires significant travel across the state for site inspections.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, inspect, and monitor contractual field work including excavations, boring, and fiber cable installation.
• Schedule work and inspection phases with contractor's superintendent and agency personnel.
• Advise contractors of violations and recommend adjustments to operations.
• Take field measurements to verify contractor billing and perform quality reviews of construction.
• Maintain project records including daily diaries, materials notebooks, and as-built plans.
• Evaluate and monitor progress schedules, prepare work orders, and monthly estimates.
• Manage warehouse inventory, including vendor outfitting and cable inventory management.
• Provide on-site support during major outages or sensitive network impacts.
• Conduct strand mapping and make ready rides with other utilities.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years working with Fiber OSP & ISP experience.
• High School diploma or associate's degree required.
• Must have Fiber Construction Experience, specifically not tower-related.

Nice-to-haves

• Basic understanding of web application infrastructure and front-end/database technologies.
• Fluent with standard Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, Visio, etc.).
• Experience with Google Earth, Adobe Acrobat, and general computer skills.
