About the position

The OSP Design Engineer position at Mountain Ltd. involves remote work or reporting to a local office, focusing on GPON engineering. The role encompasses the design and planning of outside plant (OSP) facilities, including line extensions, pole replacements, and facility relocations. The engineer will conduct cost analyses to ensure efficient placement of communications facilities, utilizing various data sources and tools to produce layout documents and work order packages.

Responsibilities

• Produce layout documents utilizing field notes, living unit data, Google Satellite, client proprietary systems, and Excel data entry.
• Plan fiber routes and terminal placements, assigning counts to each terminal and living unit in a designated area for project management, permits, and configurator ordering.
• Prepare work order packages including cut sheets, schematics, and acquiring permits and private rights-of-way.
• Engage in OSP design and planning, construction, and perform cost analysis for efficient placement of communications facilities.

Requirements

• FTTH Line of Count experience, especially in the FlexNAP 'High to Low, CO to Field' method strongly preferred.
• Previous experience in aerial, buried, and underground outside plant strongly preferred.
• AutoCAD or equivalent drafting experience required.
• Understanding of typical construction methods.
• Previous experience in a multi-tasking, results-oriented position in a deadline-focused department.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, with the ability to use Excel and Google Maps quickly and efficiently.
• Ability to perform work with minimal supervision.
