About the position

As an OT/ICS Digital Grid Cybersecurity Engineer at Siemens Energy, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative compliance-led cybersecurity technology solutions tailored for power grid and utilities organizations. This role is crucial as these organizations transition from traditional brownfield setups to advanced greenfield Digital Grids across North and South America. The evolving energy landscape is increasingly powered by renewable energy sources, and your work will involve leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as digital twins, grid automation, cyber AI, virtualization, and IIoT edge computing. Your extensive experience in electric reliability compliance programs and the OT/ICS cybersecurity landscape will be instrumental in driving innovative solutions that enhance the resiliency, availability, integrity, confidentiality, and reliability of critical infrastructure. You will be responsible for developing OT/ICS cybersecurity technology solutions that support governance, gap analysis, maturity assessments, and vulnerability management projects specifically for power generation and utility digital grid customers. Maintaining effective communication with stakeholders will be key to fostering collaboration, innovation, and making a tangible impact in this role. In your capacity as a Digital Grid cybersecurity technology innovator, you will directly contribute to initiatives aimed at securing power generation and digital power transmission of renewable energy. Your expertise in managing projects through agile methodologies will be vital in responding swiftly to cybersecurity compliance requirements and challenges. Your role will ensure that we not only meet but exceed metrics related to availability, integrity, and confidentiality, thereby supporting the resilience of our clients' critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Develop compliance-led cybersecurity technology solutions for power grid and utilities organizations.
  • Support the transition from brownfield to greenfield Digital Grids across North and South America.
  • Leverage technologies such as digital twins, grid automation, cyber AI, virtualization, and IIoT edge computing.
  • Conduct gap analysis, maturity assessments, and vulnerability management projects for power generation and utility digital grid customers.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with stakeholders to support collaboration and innovation.
  • Manage projects using agile methodologies to enhance responsiveness to cybersecurity compliance requirements.
  • Ensure the delivery of OT/ICS cybersecurity technology solutions that meet and exceed availability, integrity, and confidentiality metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience with OT/ICS asset monitoring, inventory management, vulnerability analysis, endpoint protection, SIEM, SOAR, secure remote access, and firewalls.
  • Experience in compliance reporting and audits, including NERC CIP and ISA/IEC 62443, as well as the NIST CSF framework.
  • Proven track record of leading OT/ICS utility cybersecurity projects successfully.
  • Deep knowledge of cybersecurity practices in OT/ICS environments, with relevant certifications (NERC CIP preferred).
  • Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative spirit to work effectively across teams.
  • Commitment to integrity and confidentiality, earning trust from colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and Scrum.
  • Familiarity with third-party OT/ICS integration using OpenAPI.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
