About the position

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) for the upcoming school year in Wheeling, IL. This position offers flexible options, with opportunities for both full-time and part-time work, depending on your availability and preference. The role involves providing occupational therapy services to students across various school settings, including a parochial school, a middle school, and a K-5 school. The contract dates for this position are from August 26, 2024, to June 10, 2025. For the full-time option, the Occupational Therapist will provide services at a parochial school for one day per week, deliver therapy at a middle school for one day per week, and offer therapy services at a K-5 school for three days per week, totaling 37.5 hours per week. For the part-time option, the OT will focus on providing services at a K-5 school for three days per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized therapy plans based on student needs and IEP goals, conducting assessments, tracking progress, and adjusting therapy strategies as required. Collaboration with teachers, parents, and other school staff is essential to support student development and ensure effective therapy delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy services at a parochial school 1 day per week (Full-Time).
  • Deliver therapy at a middle school 1 day per week (Full-Time).
  • Offer therapy services at a K-5 school 3 days per week (Full-Time).
  • Focus on providing occupational therapy services at a K-5 school 3 days per week (Part-Time).
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on student needs and IEP goals.
  • Conduct assessments, track progress, and adjust therapy strategies as required.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student development.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Valid IL state OT licensure.
  • Minimum 1+ years occupational therapy experience required.
  • Experience working with school-aged children, particularly in diverse school settings, is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
