The Occupational Therapist position at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission involves evaluating, planning, and administering treatment techniques as prescribed by physicians. The therapist will work full-time during the day shift, with responsibilities including documentation, patient education, and adherence to hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans, and administers appropriate treatment techniques as prescribed by a physician.
• Administers patient treatments in a professional manner and within hospital standards.
• Completes timely and thorough documentation of patient care.
• Works directly with a multidisciplinary team including physicians and therapists.
• Maintains a professional team relationship with co-workers and assists with duties as needed.
• Communicates honestly and addresses issues in a private setting.
• Consults with physicians regarding diagnostic results when appropriate.
• Delegates and supervises patient care duties performed by assistants and technicians.
• Projects a positive image through high professional standards of conduct and appearance.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA guidelines.
• Educates patients and families in self-care and prevention as appropriate.
• Completes evaluation, progress, and discharge notes in a timely manner.
• Participates in department inservices, meetings, and activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Kansas License-Occupational Therapist.
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
• No previous experience is required.
