About the position

The OTA Application System Engineer will play a crucial role within the DevOps function at Ford Motor Company, focusing on the development of the global Release & Update capability for delivering Over The Air (OTA) software updates to millions of vehicles. This position requires strong collaboration and adaptability in a fast-paced environment, driving cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross functional teams to deliver functioning code against the technical vision and strategy.
  • Develop low latency, high availability services that support internal engineering and millions of Ford customers.
  • Deliver functional capabilities aligned to timelines and roadmaps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience as a Full Stack Engineer with object-oriented languages such as Java or C++.
  • 3+ years developing REST/Queue based interfaces.
  • 3+ years developing APIs using back-end technologies like Node.js, Go, or Python.
  • 3+ years working with relational and/or NoSQL databases and SQL Queries.
  • 3+ years working with cloud platforms like GCP, Azure, or AWS.
  • 3+ years implementing front-end user interfaces using frameworks such as React or Angular.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Deep understanding of distributed microservice architectures.
  • Experience with deployment pipelines such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of trunk-based development practices.
  • Experience with the Open Application Model and Infra-As-Code.
  • Understanding of security best practices in web development.
  • SaaS development experience.
  • Experience with SBOM.
