About the position

The ACT/OPT Coordinator plays a crucial role in promoting the ACT/OPT program to staff and students, ensuring program capacity through student recruitment and providing support services to concurrently enrolled students. The position aims to meet all OMS goals and facilitate student achievement of certificates and degrees.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes the ACT/OPT program to all staff and students.
  • Recruits students to ensure program capacity.
  • Provides support services to all enrolled ACT/OPT students.
  • Acts as a liaison between the center and the concurrent enrollment provider.
  • Submits all ACT/OPT student daily attendance each week to the student records department.
  • Maintains students' ACT/OPT folders including application, progress reports, class schedules, and grades.
  • Coordinates with concurrent enrollment provider to ensure timely submission of evaluations for each ESP.
  • Ensures all ACT/OPT students meet PRH established attendance and performance criteria.
  • Coordinates with the concurrent enrollment provider and center finance department regarding financial aid for ACT/OPT student enrollment.
  • Provides regular feedback to students on employability skills and mastery of Career Success Standards.
  • Conducts ACT/OPT screening committee to determine applicant eligibility.
  • Assists approved applicants in applying for acceptance at participating colleges.
  • Monitors students' attendance and progress.
  • Conducts a review at the end of each semester to determine continued enrollment.
  • Maintains a database on applicants, participants, and average GPA of graduates' fields of studies.
  • Works to maximize the number of grants secured by students.
  • Follows CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system daily.
  • Assists with quarterly graduation exercises.
  • Complies with DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and center policies and procedures.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices.
  • Models, mentors, and monitors appropriate Career Success Standards.
  • Participates in PRH mandated staff training.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one to two years related experience in education.
  • Bachelor's degree in education from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with advanced Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Valid State Driver's License.
