About the position
Daily Express is seeking OTR Truck Drivers for open deck loads, including Owner Operators and Company Drivers. The role involves securing and transporting heavy equipment and large machinery over long distances, with a focus on open deck freight such as wind turbines and mining equipment. Responsibilities
- Secure and transport heavy equipment and large machinery over long distances.
- Operate 3- and 4-axle trailers for open deck freight.
- Ensure compliance with ELD regulations for tractors.
- Participate in paid orientation and training programs.
- Manage logistics for multi-stop deliveries and layovers.
Requirements
- Must be at least 23 years of age.
- Must possess a Class A CDL.
- At least 1 year of OTR experience, with 6 months of open deck experience.
- Tractors must be ELD compliant.
- No more than 3 recordable/preventable accidents.
- No alcohol convictions in the last 10 years.
- No drug convictions/issues in the last 5 years.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with heavy haul and specialized transportation.
- Familiarity with securing open deck loads.
