About the position

The Out-Patient CT Tech Reg PT position at Paulding Hospital involves providing safe and effective imaging services to patients. The role requires flexibility in work hours and emphasizes the importance of dependability, accountability, and cooperation. The technician will perform a variety of technical procedures, ensuring high-quality diagnostic studies while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates ability to adjust technique for lowest possible dose of ionizing radiation while maintaining image quality.
  • Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor or service provider.
  • Cleans, disinfects, and maintains equipment according to infection control policies.
  • Verifies proper clinician order for procedures and obtains complete clinical history.
  • Follows established procedures for administering contrast media safely.
  • Ensures proper patient identification and uses right and left markers appropriately.
  • Reviews CT/radiographic images for clinically acceptable results and releases patients.
  • Responds to emergency situations and maintains life support equipment.
  • Assists other technologists in all modalities as needed.
  • Observes patient condition and evaluates situations for physician intervention.
  • Prepares patients for procedures and demonstrates sterile technique.
  • Explains the purpose and nature of exams to patients to minimize anxiety.
  • Participates in the orientation and training of departmental employees.
  • Ensures concise and legible documentation of required information.
  • Completes mandatory education without prompting.
  • Produces acceptable images as evidenced by feedback and quality audits.
  • Checks equipment for proper calibration and operational deficiencies before use.
  • Restocks linens and supplies, maintaining a clean department.
  • Transports and positions patients for procedures.
  • Performs patient charging activities on the day of service.
  • Maintains Joint Commission and regulatory agency standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiology Technology.
  • ARRT Radiography certification required upon hire.
  • ARRT Computed Tomography certification required upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology required.
  • Less than 1 year experience in CT preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with physicians, patients, and staff.
  • Ability to function independently and under pressure in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to multitask effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in CT imaging preferred.
