About the position

The HazMat Technician position at C G Environmental involves full-time work focused on environmental waste clean-up, both indoors and outdoors. The role requires adherence to safety protocols while handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials, ensuring a clean environment post-removal, and being available for emergency response as needed.

Responsibilities

• Understand SDS for all hazardous materials used in the workplace
• Prepare job sites for hazardous materials removal and disposal
• Monitor air quality to verify a clean environment after removal or to assess conditions
• Collect and package hazardous and/or non-hazardous materials and/or waste
• Keep required records of work performed
• Demonstrate safe work practices and avoid unsafe behaviors
• Work independently and in a team environment
• Maintain an 'on call' status for 24/7 emergency response after training completion

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen
• Valid driver's license with a record in good standing
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve
• Good customer service skills
• Ability to stay calm under pressure
• Ability to lift 50lbs or more
• Able to wear a respirator
• Able to work in extreme conditions, including heat, cold, confined spaces, and extended working hours

Nice-to-haves

• 1 year of Hazmat experience (Preferred)
• 1 year of construction experience (Preferred)
• 2 years of hazardous waste disposal experience (Preferred)
• CDL (Preferred)
• Hazmat Endorsement (Preferred)
• Tanker Endorsement (Preferred)
