About the position

The Sales Support Associate role at Tapestry Inc. is a vital component of the store's overall success and efficiency. The Sales Support Associate will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment for customers, ensuring that their interactions are friendly and efficient, particularly at the cash wrap. This role involves maintaining a well-organized sales floor and accurately processing transactions to support the flow of products from receipt to point of sale. The associate will greet customers with a smile, engage in genuine interactions, and accurately operate the point of sale (POS) system while maintaining cash wrap organization and cleanliness. Additionally, the role includes responsibilities in the stockroom, such as receiving shipments, processing transfers, and maintaining stock levels. The Sales Support Associate will also analyze the sales floor to assess replenishment needs and execute visual merchandising as required. This position demands a proactive approach to customer service and a keen eye for detail in maintaining the store's appearance and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and maintain eye contact, offering your name.
• Interact genuinely and naturally with customers to determine their needs.
• Conduct email/name capture where permitted by law.
• Maintain accuracy when operating the POS system.
• Keep the cash wrap organized and clean.
• Suggest multiple add-ons and sell gift cards to customers.
• Accurately manage cash and POS media in compliance with company policy.
• Create a lasting impression by thanking customers and encouraging their return.
• Receive shipments and notify management of new product arrivals.
• Scan cartons and verify store information is correct.
• Communicate discrepancies to store management promptly.
• Process shipments and transfers according to company standards.
• Organize and clean the stockroom daily, including offsite warehouses as applicable.
• Shift and organize products in the stockroom based on sales trends.
• Manage stock levels and product ownership in both back-of-house and sales floor areas.
• Prepare and conduct regular cycle counts as directed.
• Participate in scheduled store physical inventory counts.
• Maintain company loss prevention standards on the sales floor.
• Analyze the sales floor regularly to assess replenishment needs.
• Replenish the sales floor and execute visual merchandising needs as directed.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding product features, benefits, and availability.
• Respond confidently to customer requests and collaborate with the sales team or management when necessary.
• Uphold housekeeping standards throughout the store.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of previous retail experience, preferably in a luxury retail service environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• Knowledge of cash register systems and basic computer skills, including the ability to use iPad/laptop and Mobile POS.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Physical ability to maneuver the sales floor and stockroom, including climbing, bending, and kneeling.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
