The Outpatient Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in assisting with the nonprofessional and clerical aspects of managing the outpatient functions of the pharmacy department. This position involves working under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists to ensure efficient pharmacy operations and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing and operating outpatient pharmacy functions.
• Perform medication-associated duties under the supervision of licensed personnel.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills for gathering and disseminating information.
• Resolve problems proactively and recommend quality improvements.
• Utilize pharmacy information systems and Microsoft Office applications proficiently.
• Provide customer service and support aligned with health system goals.
• Handle cashier duties including verifying patient information and processing orders.
• Input patient information and prescriptions into the electronic medical record system.
• Measure and fill medication containers, ensuring proper storage and restocking of shelves.

Requirements

• High School education or equivalent required.
• Pharmacy Technician certification preferred.
• NYS Pharmacy Technician license preferred.
• 1-2 years of pharmacy experience preferred.
