About the position
The Radiologic Technologist at AdventHealth Outpatient Imaging is responsible for producing quality radiographic images using ionizing radiation under general supervision. This role involves performing a variety of diagnostic technical procedures, ensuring outstanding customer service, and maintaining respectful relationships with patients and colleagues. Responsibilities
- Perform all required imaging projections for given procedures using proper positioning criteria and technical exposure factors.
- Confirm patient/exam accuracy using two patient identifiers before administering exams.
- Review all images for evidence and accuracy of RT/LT marker placement and proper orientation, repeating any views that do not meet standards.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment safely, adhering to infection control standards and minimizing radiation exposure.
- Transport hazardous waste as required, completing necessary training for handling and disposal.
- Perform a full range of imaging procedures and operate all imaging equipment in the assigned department.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills for age-specific factors necessary for safe and effective procedures on patients of all ages.
- Adapt to new technologies and protocols, assisting in the development of coworkers' knowledge and competency.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Diagnostic Radiological Procedures/Positions
- Ability to determine appropriate technical factors
- Knowledge of Radiographic and Fluoroscopic equipment
- Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Radiation Safety
- Effective communication skills and ability to work with diverse backgrounds
- ARRT (R) certification
- Florida State License - General Radiographer
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
