About the position

The Outreach Coordinator/Conservation Planner at the University of Oklahoma is responsible for collaborating with various stakeholders to design, implement, and evaluate educational programs aimed at addressing community needs. This role involves developing outreach strategies, managing community-based projects, and providing program information through public relations and media campaigns. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills to effectively engage with diverse audiences and facilitate community events.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Program Manager, Principal Investigator, and community organizations to implement strategies for various programs.
  • Assists in the development of outreach strategies and marketing tools to reach priority audiences.
  • Collects and analyzes data to identify community needs before implementing programs.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with agencies and organizations across the state.
  • Provides program information to the public through media campaigns.
  • Identifies resources and opportunities for programming and policy changes.
  • Distributes educational materials to community agencies and local government.
  • Seeks funding opportunities to expand programming for priority audiences.
  • Implements and manages community-based projects involving partners and stakeholders.
  • Prepares monthly reports of activities and program objectives.
  • Organizes community events, trainings, and presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 12 months of experience in community outreach activities or health education.
  • Knowledge of community outreach practices and qualitative/quantitative research methods.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media management.
  • Ability to plan events and coordinate programs.
