About the position

The Designated Crisis Responder (DCR) position at Compass Health involves providing crisis intervention mental health services to individuals of all ages experiencing acute behavioral health issues. The DCR will primarily work in community settings, responding to crises and evaluating individuals for involuntary detention when necessary. This role is part of the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT), which focuses on short-term crisis intervention and prevention services, utilizing a strength-based and trauma-informed approach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis intervention mental health services to individuals experiencing acute behavioral health issues.
  • Evaluate individuals for involuntary detention when appropriate.
  • Support and back-up team members as needed during crisis situations.
  • Collaborate with individuals in crisis and their families to develop recovery plans.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices in crisis intervention.

Requirements

  • MA/MS/MSW Degree in a Behavioral Science related field.
  • Current Washington State Licensure or equivalent in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling preferred.
  • Qualifies as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) as defined by WAC.
  • Experience in medical, mental health or social services field preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Evidence-Based Practices, or interest and ability to learn.
  • Proof of Hepatitis B vaccination within 10 days of hire.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License required including vehicle and appropriate insurance, if applicable.
  • Ability to attend the DCR Academy by the time of the first annual review required.
  • Familiarity with RCW 71.05 and 71.34 preferred.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment criminal background check.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with individuals with complex needs and multi-system involvement.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including keyboarding skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
