About the position

The Outreach Laboratory Client Services Support Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate registration and processing of patient specimens in a healthcare laboratory setting. This position involves verifying patient information, entering data into electronic systems, and maintaining specimen integrity for testing, all while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Receive specimens and check for proper and complete patient information and identification according to established laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Analyze and register patients, recording demographic, insurance/financial, and clinical data into the registration/order entry system.
  • Ensure accuracy necessary for proper registration, billing, and test requisition.
  • Use multiple electronic systems (LIS, HMS, E-Care Next, Atlas, Any Doc, LabFirst Test Catalog, Quest) to conduct registration and order entry functions.
  • Process and prepare specimens, maintaining proper specimen identification and sample integrity for testing in various laboratory sections.
  • Work cooperatively with others and address any customer service needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in healthcare or laboratory sciences preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare or laboratory setting is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using electronic systems for data entry and registration.
