About the position

The Outreach Manager for Energy Infrastructure Partners (EIP) is responsible for amplifying the organization's mission by cultivating partnerships within local communities. This role focuses on advancing energy efficiency programs through community engagement, partnership development, and utility customer outreach. The Outreach Manager will play a pivotal role in establishing and nurturing relationships that contribute to EIP's goals in sustainability and environmental justice.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage communities in energy efficiency and environmental justice initiatives.
  • Collaborate with local organizations, government agencies, utility customers, and stakeholders to foster partnerships that generate participation in utility energy efficiency programs.
  • Conduct outreach to utility commercial and industrial customers, recruiting their participation in strategic energy management and incentive programs.
  • Identify, engage, and onboard trade allies or service providers that sell and install energy-efficient equipment.
  • Organize and participate in educational events, workshops, and presentations to promote understanding and involvement in sustainable practices.
  • Maintain positive relationships with community partners, utility customers, trade allies, and stakeholders.
  • Manage special projects related to outreach and program implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as marketing, communications, or environmental studies or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in community outreach, partnership development, or a related outreach or sales role.
  • Proven ability to build and nurture relationships with diverse community stakeholders, utility customers, and trade allies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to plan and execute successful outreach initiatives.
  • A genuine passion for sustainable practices, environmental justice, community engagement, and utility customer participation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with the utility industry, commercial and industrial customers, energy management programs, and trade ally dynamics.
  • Experience in sales and marketing outreach to public sector entities.
  • Experience connecting with customers and/or partners via telephone and electronic media to generate prospects.
  • Experience in organizing and executing events, workshops, or educational programs.
  • Experience in identifying, recruiting, and collaborating with trade allies or service providers.
  • Proficiency in leveraging social media platforms for outreach and engagement.
