About the position

The Outreach Program Specialist at Girls Incorporated of New York City (GINYC) is responsible for implementing the "Healthy Sexuality and Mind Body Matters" curricula for middle and high school students. This part-time role focuses on delivering educational programs that promote physical and mental well-being among adolescents, fostering personal growth, and encouraging goal setting. The specialist will engage students through interactive activities and discussions, empowering them with knowledge and skills for informed health decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the GINYC SEL curriculum with fidelity, ensuring lessons are age-appropriate and culturally responsive.
  • Prepare detailed lesson plans aligned with curriculum objectives tailored to participants' needs.
  • Facilitate dynamic, hands-on workshops on topics such as healthy relationships, self-esteem, and mental wellness.
  • Demonstrate adaptability in responding to students' needs and program schedules.
  • Use effective problem-solving skills to address challenges during program implementation.
  • Manage all aspects of programming, including tracking timelines and maintaining materials.
  • Foster a supportive environment for students to express themselves and promote peer support.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from participants to evaluate and improve program success.
  • Collaborate with school staff and community partners to align program activities with wellness goals.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, social work, public health, psychology) or equivalent experience.
  • Bilingual proficiency in both English and Spanish is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum delivery, public speaking, and facilitation.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage diverse youth populations.
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for wellness advocacy and youth development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in experiential program delivery (2 years preferred).
