About the position

The Outreach Project Manager will oversee the Better Together initiative, coordinating outreach efforts to provide best management practices for US soybean farmers. This role involves managing strategic plans, facilitating communication among various stakeholders, and ensuring the successful execution of grant deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the execution of the Better Together strategic plan and grant deliverables.
  • Oversee the Bean Binoculars tool, including recruitment of contributors and management of submissions.
  • Organize the Better Together Working Group, assisting with goal setting and achievement.
  • Coordinate all meetings for Better Together, including agenda setting and logistics management.
  • Lead internal and external communications for the initiative.
  • Maintain file sharing systems and team platforms like Basecamp.
  • Document and capture the impact of the Better Together initiative.
  • Execute technical reporting requirements for Better Together grants.
  • Manage accounting for Better Together grants led by NC State.
  • Assist teams with coordination and collection of grant documents.
  • Independently drive a program vehicle to various site locations.

Requirements

  • Post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with equivalent professional training and experience.
  • Expertise in managing programs and teams.
  • Experience administering complex administrative processes with multiple stakeholders.
  • Logistics management and accounting experience.
  • Robust time management and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Team-oriented with good problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with digital shared workspaces.
  • Knowledge of basic crop science.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with grant writing/reporting.
  • Experience developing/executing strategic plans.
  • Experience with agronomy, crop and soil science, applied research, and extension.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience ($70,000 - $75,000).
  • Full-time position with a standard work schedule of Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM.
