About the position

The Outreach & Resource Specialist is responsible for promoting SC CCR&R services and related programs to child care programs, families, and the community through outreach efforts. Responsibilities include providing information to families to assist in their search for high-quality child care options through referrals, seminars, and outreach events, and providing support to early childhood programs to promote types of care and vacancies. This home-based position requires reliable transportation and the ability to travel to conduct/attend on-site outreach events, meetings, and community events throughout the state.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement marketing and promoting the services of the SC CCR&R.
• Provide outreach to child care providers to support and develop their skills in using the SC CCR&R web portal.
• Serve as back-up to parent referral team in providing child care referrals and resource information to parents.
• Develop professional partnerships with community partners to promote SC CCR&R services.
• Maintain knowledge of field, program, and ongoing statewide initiatives related to high-quality child care.
• Maintain data files of all outreach events and develop required reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 2 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
• Knowledge of marketing and outreach strategies.
• Experience in public speaking.
• Knowledge of early care and education programs.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office and web-based software applications.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in education, social services, communication, or related field.
• Experience in training, outreach, teaching, mentoring, marketing, or development.
