About the position

The Outreach Specialist I position at Franklin Energy / AM Conservation is focused on developing, coordinating, and managing outreach functions for energy efficiency programs. The role involves engaging with customers and contractors to promote program participation, ensuring effective communication and support for both new and existing initiatives. The specialist will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve outreach goals and contribute to the organization's mission of driving the transition to net-zero carbon economies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and manage outreach functions for new and legacy programs.
  • Make outbound calls to new and existing customers to meet assigned energy saving targets.
  • Manage field time effectively with customer or Trade Ally visits.
  • Develop and present program presentations to spur project activity.
  • Respond to customer and Trade Ally inquiries and concerns to move projects towards completion.
  • Recruit, train, educate, and cultivate relationships with contractors and customers.
  • Maintain knowledge of program best practices and offerings.
  • Support outreach work plan creation, monitoring, and updates.
  • Conduct market research and identify key allies for program targeting.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly project-based activity reports and track progress towards program goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in the electric or natural gas utility industry, sales, or conservation.
  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize workload.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical school degree combined with demonstrated experience in the electric/gas utility field.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and solve practical problems.
