About the position

As the largest pure-play fiber provider in the U.S., Frontier Communications is dedicated to delivering high-speed broadband connectivity that empowers millions of consumers and businesses. The Outside Connectivity Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in the Consumer Direct Sales organization, overseeing a geographically dispersed outside sales team. This position requires a dynamic leader who can effectively supervise, develop, and execute sales strategies to ensure the success of each team member. The role is primarily in-person, based in Marion, OH, and involves a mix of fieldwork and office responsibilities. In this role, you will be responsible for leading from the front, acting as a force multiplier for your team by removing obstacles, motivating team members, and providing individual support. You will engage in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and training of outside sales agents, while also maintaining accountability for performance and expectations. Your ability to foster collaboration with other departments and support teams will be crucial in achieving sales targets and maintaining budgeted headcount. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, be results-driven, and have a passion for sales and people leadership. You will need to have a comprehensive understanding of Frontier's product offerings and the competitive landscape, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues. This position also requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, and the capability to travel to assigned territories as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the field supervision and development of a geographically dispersed outside sales team.
  • Achieve and maintain budgeted headcount while surpassing sales targets.
  • Engage in the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and training of front-line outside sales agents.
  • Establish clear expectations and hold employees accountable for performance.
  • Maintain familiarity with reporting and analytics to support business decisions.
  • Foster collaboration with other departments to attain goals and objectives.
  • Allocate work, with approximately 60% fieldwork and 40% office work.
  • Provide coaching and drive adherence to Frontier's Consumer Sales Methodology.
  • Communicate territory and leads assignments to Residential Connectivity Sales Specialists.
  • Address employee relation issues, conduct performance appraisals, and provide training as needed.
  • Complete administrative tasks associated with sales activities and ensure team compliance.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Frontier's product offerings and value proposition.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with customers, business partners, and colleagues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or marketing, or 3+ years equivalent work experience in sales.
  • Ability to motivate, lead, and drive a sales team to success.
  • Proficiency in the English language, encompassing reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and professional communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint; ability to learn new technology tools easily.
  • Ability to accommodate non-traditional work hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Capability to travel to assigned territories and company facilities using a dependable personal vehicle.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

Nice-to-haves
