About the position

The Outside Parts Salesperson at MHC Kenworth is responsible for maximizing profitable sales volume of parts and labor services from assigned accounts within a designated territory. This role involves analyzing customer operations to identify future needs and providing support in inventory selection, service offerings, and new products. The position requires regular interaction with key accounts to promote MHC's products and services, manage customer relationships, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and achieve maximum sales volume consistent with realistic sales projections for assigned accounts focusing on parts and labor sales opportunities.
  • Oversee operations of assigned customers and advise them on inventory selection, service availability, and new products.
  • Plan territory coverage and regularly call upon key accounts to take orders and introduce new products and promotions.
  • Complete customer call sheets weekly, summarizing calls made.
  • Control personal expenses within the approved budget and submit weekly expense reports.
  • Promote all MHC product and service offerings including RoadForce, Service, Body Shop, Truck Sales, Leasing, Carrier, and Finance.
  • Investigate and refer customer complaints to the appropriate Department Manager and/or Branch Manager.
  • Assist counter personnel with orders, deliveries, returns, inventory, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • One-year automotive parts related experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience dealing with the public in a sales/service capacity.
  • Computer skills preferred.
