About the position
The Outside Parts Salesperson at Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is responsible for maximizing profitable sales volume of parts and labor services from assigned accounts within a designated territory. This role involves analyzing customer operations to identify future needs, planning territory coverage, and promoting MHC's product and service offerings. The salesperson will regularly engage with key accounts, manage customer relationships, and ensure customer satisfaction while adhering to safety-sensitive guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Develop and achieve maximum profitable sales volume of parts and labor services from assigned accounts.
- Analyze customer operations to ascertain future parts, service, and truck requirements.
- Oversee operations of assigned customers and advise them on inventory selection and control.
- Plan territory coverage and regularly call upon key accounts.
- Take orders, introduce new products and promotions, and provide necessary literature.
- Complete customer call sheets weekly, summarizing calls made.
- Control personal expenses within the approved budget and submit weekly expense reports.
- Promote all MHC product and service offerings including RoadForce, Service, Body Shop, Truck Sales, Leasing, Carrier, and Finance.
- Investigate and refer customer complaints to the appropriate Department Manager or Branch Manager.
- Assist counter personnel with orders, deliveries, returns, and inventory as assigned.
Requirements
- One year of automotive parts related experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience dealing with the public in a sales/service capacity.
- Computer skills preferred.
