About the position

The Outside Processing Coordinator I at Big River Steel LLC is responsible for coordinating material outside processing efforts, ensuring the effective flow of material from the mill to external processors and ultimately to customers. This role emphasizes compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards while serving as a primary contact for external processors and managing various logistical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and ResponsibleSteel requirements are followed.
  • Ensure that external processors adhere to Company standards for compliance.
  • Provide a single point of contact for external processors.
  • Full understanding of external processor's manufacturing, logistical, and quality capabilities.
  • Handle all mill unplanned processing needs.
  • Handle all outside processing document retention.
  • Monitor scrap compliance programs.
  • Manage inventory and utilize customer forecast.
  • Work closely with inside sales to ensure OSP orders are being processed effectively.
  • Work closely with Outside Processing Coordinator II and III to assist with advanced outside processing tasks.
  • Perform other duties as may apply.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and computer skills.
  • Able to multi-task with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong professional and friendly phone, email, and in-person personality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a positive team player.
  • Able to demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times.
  • Able to effectively and efficiently use the business systems required to perform job tasks and satisfy customer demands.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; college degree is a plus.
  • Related experience is a plus but not required.
