About the position

BrandSafway is seeking an experienced Outside Sales Account Manager (Hunter) to manage the Greater New York Metropolitan and Jersey City territory. This role is pivotal in driving sales and growth within the commercial branch, reporting directly to the Branch Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the sales of scaffold rental, erection, and dismantlement services, as well as other access solutions and fall protection equipment, with the goal of achieving world-class customer satisfaction. The position emphasizes a proactive sales approach, requiring the individual to generate leads and close competitive business effectively. In this role, the Account Manager will be tasked with generating sales leads by promoting the full range of scaffolding and motorized products and services, aligning with branch revenue and profitability goals. The responsibilities include account management to increase the existing customer portfolio, understanding customer requirements, and preparing proposals that meet those needs. Building strong relationships with customers through an outward-facing, proactive sales approach is essential. The Account Manager will also coordinate engineering services related to proposals, review blueprints, perform estimating, and present proposals convincingly to secure sales. Negotiation of terms of sale to benefit the company, coordinating the sales, delivery, erection, and disassembly of scaffolding systems, and providing leadership to job site work crews are key aspects of this position. The Account Manager will ensure customer satisfaction and the safe utilization of company products and services by discussing job requirements with construction site management. Additionally, the role involves maintaining documentation of sales activities, managing a sales pipeline through BrandSafway's CRM interface (Salesforce), and staying aware of competitors' sales efforts in the territory. The Account Manager will also develop actionable short-term and long-term customer targets and conduct quarterly “Lunch and Learn” sessions with customers to enhance branch visibility and showcase BrandSafway's capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Generate sales leads promoting full range of scaffolding / motorized products/services.
  • Account Management - increasing existing customer portfolio.
  • Understand customer requirements and prepare proposals that fulfill customer needs.
  • Build relationships with customers with an outward-facing proactive approach to sales.
  • Coordinate engineering services relating to proposals.
  • Perform duties related to proposal preparation, such as reviewing blueprints and performing estimating.
  • Present proposals to customers in a convincing manner and respond to customer questions and/or objections to secure the sale.
  • Negotiate terms of sale to the best advantage of the company.
  • Coordinate the sales, delivery, and/or erection and disassembly of scaffolding systems consistent with customer requirements.
  • Provide leadership and assist Superintendents in the direction of job site work crews to fulfill customer requirements and maintain job profitability.
  • Discuss job requirements with construction job site management or other personnel to ensure satisfaction of customer requirements and the safe utilization of company products and services.
  • Lead best practice project management ensuring work is performed safely and in a timely manner coordinating with multiple internal departments including Engineering, billing, safety & operations.
  • Ensure excellent customer service, proactive and professional in all communications outward.
  • Maintain documentation of sales activities and related expenses.
  • Maintain current and accurate pipeline of sales through BrandSafway CRM interface (Salesforce).
  • Maintain awareness of competitor's sales efforts and programs in the branch territory.
  • Develop short-term and long-term new customer targets with actionable goals to attain their business within a determined timeframe.
  • Conduct quarterly 'Lunch and Learn' with customers to enhance branch visibility in the market.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of sales experience.
  • Previous experience in the Construction industry preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle safely while observing all traffic rules and regulations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with customers and company employees.
  • Ability to review and process important customer information (blueprints, plans, specifications, etc.) and prepare timely, accurate, and competitive bids for the sale and/or rental of scaffolding systems.
  • Ability to process complex time-sensitive data and information from multiple sources, make decisions based on this data, and effectively communicate the related required actions.
