About the position

This position is for an Outside Sales Account Manager (B2B) with a leading importer and distributor in the flooring industry, specifically targeting the Austin, TX area. The role is designed for an ambitious individual who is eager to build relationships and make a significant impact in a growing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the company's Mosaic and field tile collections to both new and established accounts, with the goal of maximizing sales volume across the designated territory, which includes Austin, San Marcos, New Braunfels, and Waco. Upon hiring, the candidate will participate in a one-week paid product training session to ensure they are well-equipped to represent the company's offerings effectively. The job entails frequent travel throughout the territory, necessitating a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift heavy items and perform various physical tasks such as standing, walking, and bending. The Outside Sales Account Manager will maintain close communication with management and office staff regarding customer samples and account performance. Responsibilities also include servicing existing customers, upselling to current clients, and actively seeking to open new accounts. The candidate will be expected to keep the company vehicle clean and well-maintained, reflecting the professionalism of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Mosaic and field tile collections to new and established accounts.
  • Maximize sales volume within the assigned territory.
  • Attend a one-week paid product training session after hiring.
  • Travel frequently throughout the territory to meet clients.
  • Display products based on specifications provided.
  • Maintain close communication with the manager and office staff about customer samples.
  • Provide timely follow-ups with customers, prospects, and managers.
  • Service existing customers and upsell current customers.
  • Open new accounts and expand business within the territory.
  • Keep the company vehicle clean and well-maintained.

Requirements

  • Prior sales experience is a plus.
  • Prior customer service experience is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including influencing and negotiating.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with people at all levels.
  • Ability to perform quality work in an organized manner.
  • General computer knowledge including Word and Excel.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record for at least 3 years.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the flooring industry is a plus.
  • Associate degree preferred.
