About the position

Ford-Gelatt, a SunSource company, is seeking an Outside Sales Account Manager for Fluid Process Rotating Equipment. This position is crucial for developing new business through direct sales of fluid process equipment across Louisiana, Mississippi, and Southeast Texas. The successful candidate will be part of a technically sound and highly experienced team that focuses on adding value to the industrial process equipment sector. The company prides itself on its outstanding repair capabilities, which are recognized as the finest in the Gulf Region. As an Outside Sales Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing sales from Baton Rouge to New Orleans and surrounding areas, leveraging the support of a knowledgeable customer service team and supportive managers to meet and exceed sales goals. In this role, you will be expected to establish, build, and maintain strong business relationships with clients, particularly in chemical plants, refineries, and papermills. The ideal candidate will possess a competitive mindset and an entrepreneurial spirit, essential for thriving in a sales-driven environment. You will be required to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and demonstrate proficiency in using Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Familiarity with CRM systems is also necessary. The position may require overnight travel, and a valid driver's license is mandatory. Responsibilities

  • Develop new business through direct sales of fluid process equipment.
  • Manage sales activities from Baton Rouge to New Orleans and surrounding areas.
  • Establish, build, and maintain business relationships with clients in the industrial sector.
  • Collaborate with the customer service team to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office products and CRM systems effectively for sales management.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with clients and team members.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of industrial sales experience focused on fluid process or fluid handling equipment.
  • 2-year technical, industrial, and/or engineering degree preferred.
  • Experience calling into chemical plants, refineries, and papermills preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to establish and maintain business relationships.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience with CRM systems is preferred.
