About the position

The Outside Sales Account Manager for Government Solutions at HD Supply is responsible for managing an established portfolio of Federal, SLED, and Non-Profit customers. This role focuses on driving Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) sales while also seeking new business opportunities within the Greater Dallas area. The position involves consistent day travel and occasional overnight travel, with a competitive base salary and monthly sales incentives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong sales relationships with key decision makers and influencers across all levels of an organization.
  • Manage sales volume with existing customers while actively prospecting and acquiring new customers.
  • Develop and implement plans to expand business presence in the assigned area.
  • Share market insights and competitor information with relevant channels throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with leadership to analyze market trends and customer needs, providing valuable input for effective sales strategies.
  • Attend monthly business meetings, engage in local trade shows, and represent the organization in regional or national activities.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of business-to-business (B2B) field sales experience.
  • Bilingual proficiency.
  • Experience with a large volume of product lines.
  • Strong organizational skills and tech-savvy.
  • Knowledge of facilities products such as hardware, electrical, lighting, plumbing, janitorial, and HVAC product lines.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
  • Experience with consultative selling/solution selling.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals in a remote position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in government sales or working with government contracts.
  • Familiarity with the Dallas market and local government agencies.
