About the position

The Outside Sales Account Manager for Government Customers is a field sales role responsible for managing an established portfolio of Federal and SLED customers in Orange County, CA. The primary focus is on driving Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) sales while maintaining and expanding customer relationships. This position involves regular travel within the territory and offers a competitive salary along with a monthly sales incentive plan.

Responsibilities

  • Manage sales volume with an existing group of customers and prospect new accounts to expand the customer base.
  • Develop and implement plans to expand business presence in the assigned area.
  • Share market and competitor information with applicable channels.
  • Develop and sustain sales relationships with key decision makers and influencers.
  • Attend monthly business meetings for company-sponsored associations.
  • Participate in local trade shows and similar regional/national activities.
  • Assist in training or mentoring associates.

Requirements

  • Bilingual proficiency.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a related field or a Master's degree with 2-4 years of experience.
  • Experience in business-to-business (B2B) field sales, particularly in direct sales to facility customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and tech-savvy capabilities.
  • Knowledge of facilities products such as hardware, electrical, lighting, plumbing, janitorial, and HVAC.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3 or more years of B2B field sales experience.
  • Experience with consultative selling/solution selling.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals in a remote position.
