About the position

As an Outside Sales Account Manager for the Hospitality division, you will be tasked with managing an established portfolio of accounts while driving Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) sales. This role involves consistent day travel within the Greater Sacramento area, including locations such as Lincoln, Placerville, Galt, and Woodland, as well as surrounding areas. The position offers a competitive base salary complemented by a monthly sales incentive plan. You will be provided with a laptop, cell phone, and coverage for monthly expenses to facilitate your work. Your primary objective will be to drive profitable sales growth by prospecting new accounts, retaining existing customers, and expanding opportunities with current clients in both core and emerging markets. This role requires you to develop strong sales relationships with key decision-makers and influencers across various organizational levels, ensuring long-term sustainability and success. You will manage sales volume with existing customers while actively seeking new business opportunities to diversify the customer base. In addition to sales responsibilities, you will collaborate with leadership to analyze market trends and customer needs, providing valuable insights for the development of effective sales strategies. You will also be expected to attend monthly business meetings, engage in local trade shows, and represent the organization in regional or national activities as necessary. The nature of the work requires a degree of independence, with guidance provided only for unusual or complex issues. You may also provide general guidance or training to junior personnel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong sales relationships with key decision makers and influencers across all levels of an organization.
  • Manage sales volume with existing customers while actively prospecting and acquiring new customers to expand and diversify the customer base.
  • Develop and implement plans to expand business presence in the assigned area.
  • Share market insights and competitor information with relevant channels throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with leadership to analyze market trends and customer needs, providing valuable input for the development of effective sales strategies and initiatives.
  • Attend monthly business meetings for all company-sponsored associations, engage in local trade shows, and represent the organization in regional or national activities as necessary.

Requirements

  • Direct sales experience to Hospitality customers.
  • 3 or more years of business to business (B2B) sales experience.
  • Experience in direct sales to HD Supply facility customers and industry product line.
  • Passion for customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills and tech-savvy.
  • Experience with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce or similar.
  • Knowledge of facilities products such as hardware, electrical, lighting, plumbing, janitorial, and HVAC product lines.
  • Experience with consultative selling/solution selling.
  • Ability to develop call plans and proactively develop new business.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and openness to new ideas.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
