About the position

GHX Industrial, a SunSource company, is seeking a highly motivated and self-directed Outside Sales Account Manager for the Houston, TX area. This role is pivotal in driving the day-to-day sales activities and fostering ongoing business development within a well-established sales territory. As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for consultatively selling our industrial hose and gasket services to both current and potential clients in a B2B environment. Your ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients will be essential to your success in this position. In this role, you will prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific sales targets, follow up on leads generated from field activities, and develop presentations and proposals tailored to the needs of your clients. You will also be tasked with managing account services through quality checks and follow-ups, ensuring that client concerns are identified and resolved promptly. Your organizational skills will be crucial as you prepare various status reports, including activity, closings, and follow-ups, while collaborating effectively with the Inside Sales staff. Additionally, you will participate in marketing events such as seminars and trade shows, which will enhance your visibility and networking within the industry. This position may require some overnight travel, reflecting the dynamic nature of the sales environment in which you will operate. Your success will be measured by your ability to drive sales growth and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Be highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented.
  • Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing skills.
  • Consultatively sell company services to current and potential clients (B2B).
  • Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets.
  • Follow up and develop new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
  • Prepare presentations and proposals for current and potential customers.
  • Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
  • Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
  • Manage account services through quality checks and other follow-up.
  • Identify and resolve client concerns.
  • Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, and follow-up.
  • Work effectively with Inside Sales staff.
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars and trade shows.
  • Follow up for collection of payment.
  • Coordinate shipping schedules and delivery of merchandise and services.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED; Bachelor degree in related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of outside sales experience within the industrial hose and gasket industry.
  • Experience with value-add sales is preferred.
  • Must be able to successfully function in a fast-paced high-volume sales environment.
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and ability to learn and use a CRM system.
  • Valid Driver's license.
