About the position

The Outside Sales Account Manager at SunSource is responsible for promoting and facilitating the sale of industrial supplies to core and target accounts within the St. Louis metro area. This role requires a self-driven individual with a strong background in outside sales, particularly in the industrial sector, to develop and maintain customer relationships while achieving sales targets.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market planning and research to identify opportunities with core and target accounts.
  • Collaborate with branch managers and company personnel to promote product lines to accounts.
  • Develop action plans for each territory to capture market share.
  • Visit customer sites daily to assess needs, take orders, and promote products.
  • Coordinate with Inventory Control regarding stock levels and obsolete inventory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of industrial outside sales experience required.
  • Experience selling hydraulic hose & fittings, safety products, or MRO preferred.
  • Proven track record of sales accomplishments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency is required.
  • Valid driver's license is necessary.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
