About the position

The Outside Sales Account Manager at United Central Industrial Supply is responsible for promoting and facilitating the sale of industrial supplies to core and target accounts within the St. Louis metro area. This role requires a self-driven individual who can effectively manage customer relationships and drive sales growth through market planning and research.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and facilitate the sale of industrial supplies to core and target accounts.
  • Conduct market planning and research to identify opportunities within each territory.
  • Collaborate with branch managers and company personnel to promote product lines.
  • Develop action plans to capture a major share of the core and target business.
  • Visit customer sites daily to assess needs, take orders, and promote products.
  • Coordinate with Inventory Control regarding stock levels and obsolete inventory.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; 2-year or 4-year degree preferred in business, marketing, sales, mechanical, engineering, or similar discipline.
  • 1+ years of industrial outside sales experience required.
  • Preferred sales experience in hydraulic hose & fittings, conveyors, lubricants, mining, hydraulics, wire and cable, electrical supply, filtration, ventilation, gas detection, breathing apparatus, safety, and communication devices.
  • Previous experience selling to mining customers is preferred.
  • Proven track record of progressive sales accomplishments.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency is required.
  • Valid driver's license is necessary.
