As an Outside Sales Account Manager, you will be responsible for selling maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplies and other products to an established portfolio of multi-family housing customers, specifically apartment communities. This role is crucial for maintaining and driving sales within your territory, which includes Irvine, CA, and surrounding areas. You will be expected to develop and sustain sales relationships with key decision-makers and influencers at all levels of the organizations you serve. Your primary goal will be to profitably grow sales to achieve yearly sales targets while acting as a sales consultant for both current core industries and emerging markets. In this position, you will be tasked with prospecting new accounts, retaining existing accounts, and increasing opportunities with current customers. You will manage sales volume with an existing group of customers and successfully prospect to expand the customer base. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and implementing plans to enhance business presence in your assigned area. Sharing market and competitor information with relevant channels within the organization will be essential, as will establishing relationships and working partnerships. You will also participate in monthly business meetings for all company-sponsored associations and attend local trade shows, as well as regional or national activities as required. The nature of this work requires increasing independence, with guidance provided only on unusual or complex problems. You may also provide general guidance or training to junior-level support or professional personnel. The work environment is primarily comfortable and indoor, with infrequent unpleasant conditions. Most of your time will be spent sitting comfortably, with opportunities to move about, and there may be occasional light lifting or moving of articles. Overnight travel is expected to be less than 10% of the time.
