About the position

As an Outside Sales Account Manager for Multi-Family Housing Accounts, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and maintaining relationships with an established portfolio of multi-family housing customers, specifically apartment communities. Your primary responsibility will be to sell maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplies, along with other related products, to these customers. This position not only offers a competitive base salary but also includes a sales incentive bonus, a laptop/tablet, a cell phone, and coverage for monthly expenses. You will be tasked with managing specific territories, particularly focusing on the Eastern Territories of Louisville, KY. Your role will involve profitably growing sales to meet yearly sales goals, acting as a sales consultant for both current core industries and emerging markets. This includes prospecting new accounts, retaining existing customers, and identifying opportunities to expand business with current clients. The position requires the operation of a company vehicle or personal vehicle, with travel expectations exceeding 20% of the average work week. A Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report will be conducted as part of the hiring process, and maintaining an acceptable MVR is a requirement for this role. In this position, you will develop and sustain sales relationships with key decision-makers and influencers at all levels within organizations. You will manage sales volume with an existing group of customers while also prospecting to expand the customer base. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and implementing plans to enhance business presence in your assigned area, sharing market and competitor information with relevant channels within the organization, and establishing working partnerships. Participation in monthly business meetings for company-sponsored associations and local trade shows will also be part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Direct sales experience to multi-family communities and facilities maintenance customers.
  • 3 or more years of business to business (B2B) field sales experience.
  • Experience in direct sales to HD Supply facility customers and industry products.
  • Experience with a large volume of product lines.
  • Strong organizational skills and knowledge of handheld technology.
  • Independent and accountable self-starter.
  • Knowledge of facilities products such as hardware, electrical, lighting, and more.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
  • Experience with consultative selling/solution selling preferred.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals in a remote position.
