About the position

As an Outside Sales Account Manager for Multi-Family Housing Accounts at HD Supply, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and maintaining relationships with an established portfolio of multi-family housing customers, specifically apartment communities. Your primary responsibility will be to sell maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplies, along with other products, to these customers. This position not only offers a competitive base salary but also includes a sales incentive bonus, a laptop/tablet, a cell phone, and coverage for monthly expenses. The territory for this role extends from Sarasota down to Punta Gorda, providing ample opportunity for growth and engagement with clients in the area. In this role, you will be responsible for profitably growing sales to achieve yearly sales goals. This involves acting as a sales consultant for both current core industries and emerging markets. You will be tasked with prospecting new accounts, retaining existing ones, and increasing opportunities with current customers. A significant aspect of this position is the operation of a company vehicle or personal vehicle, which will be necessary for more than 20% of your average work week. As part of the hiring process, the company will conduct a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report, and maintaining an acceptable MVR is a requirement for this position. Your success will depend on your ability to develop and sustain sales relationships with key decision-makers and influencers at all levels within organizations. You will manage sales volume with an existing group of customers while also prospecting to expand the customer base. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and implementing plans to enhance business presence in your assigned area. Sharing market and competitor information with relevant channels within the organization will be essential, as will establishing relationships and partnerships that can lead to increased sales opportunities. Participation in monthly business meetings for company-sponsored associations and local trade shows will also be part of your responsibilities, ensuring you remain engaged with the industry and your peers.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Direct sales experience to multi-family communities and facilities maintenance customers.
  • 3 or more years of business to business (B2B) field sales experience.
  • Experience in direct sales to HD Supply facility customers and industry products.
  • Experience with a large volume of product lines.
  • Strong organizational skills and knowledge of handheld technology.
  • Knowledge of facilities products such as hardware, electrical, lighting, and more.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Salesforce, or similar CRM software.
  • Experience with consultative selling/solution selling preferred.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals in a remote position.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
