About the position

The Erosion Company (TEC) is seeking an Outside Sales / Account Manager for the North Carolina Triangle Region. As the largest and most experienced Erosion Control contractor in the Southeast, TEC is expanding its operations and looking for a dynamic individual to join our sales team. The successful candidate will embody a Can-Do attitude and a strong work ethic, thriving in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a proactive approach to meet and engage with a diverse range of clients, including residential builders, construction site managers, project managers, estimators, and engineers. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, disciplined, and client-focused, ready to hit the ground running in developing new business opportunities while managing existing accounts. In this position, you will be responsible for developing new customers and markets for our erosion control services and products within the assigned territory. You will also manage existing customer accounts on a daily basis, aiming to increase sales volume and market penetration on a monthly and annual basis. Collaborating with leadership, you will establish sales objectives, plans, and quotas for your territory. Additionally, you will identify and investigate planned projects prior to contract awards, establishing strategies to secure future work. Building and maintaining a strong rapport with key clients is essential, as is becoming a trusted expert in the erosion control industry through continuous education and networking. This role demands a high sense of urgency and energy, as well as the ability to perform a high volume of daily prospect calls while remaining focused on results. The successful candidate will be accountable for their daily activities and must have current ties to the Charlotte area, including connections with local, state, and federal Home Builders and related erosion control professional associations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new customers and markets for erosion control services and products in the assigned territory.
  • Manage existing customer accounts daily to maintain and build a customer base.
  • Increase sales volume and market penetration monthly and annually.
  • Work with leadership to establish sales objectives, sales plans, and quotas for the assigned territory.
  • Identify and investigate planned projects prior to contract award to establish a plan to win future work.
  • Develop a strong rapport with key clients and work to establish new customer opportunities.
  • Continue education in the erosion control industry through reading, attending seminars, and maintaining a personal network.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of direct experience in selling landscaping, erosion control services, or other construction services.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, with Salesforce.com being a plus.
  • Reliable transportation and a strong desire to sell.
  • Exceptional customer service, people, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Energetic and capable of performing a high volume of daily prospect calls while remaining task-oriented and result-minded.
  • A high producer who is accountable for their daily activities.
  • Current ties to the Charlotte and surrounding community, such as Chamber of Commerce and local, state, and/or federal Home Builders.
