About the position

The Plumbing & HVAC Outside Sales Account Manager at DSG is responsible for promoting products and services to contractors and industrial accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction, and building strong business relationships. This role involves significant travel to manage customer accounts and collaborate with inside sales associates to enhance customer satisfaction and territory growth.

Responsibilities

  • Travel up to 125 miles to establish and maintain customer relationships.
  • Provide stellar customer service by responding to and calling on customers as necessary.
  • Work with Inside Sales Associates to identify and implement initiatives for customer satisfaction and territory growth.
  • Seek and develop new customer opportunities and accounts.
  • Introduce, promote, and demonstrate new products and marketing programs.
  • Correspond with Branch Manager and Purchasing Agents regarding product demand changes.
  • Facilitate the customer ordering process, including processing orders and responding to inquiries.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent; postsecondary degree preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Product and technical knowledge from 2+ years of college or technical school or 3-5 years of field experience in plumbing/HVAC applications.
  • Strong sales skills with a proven track record in territory development.
  • 3-5 years of sales experience.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through abilities.
  • General understanding of plumbing/HVAC software and programs.
  • Familiarity with DSG Web Commerce and ability to instruct customers on its uses.
  • Excellent time management skills.
