About the position

Continental Resources, Inc. is the nation's most established and reliable source for electronic test and measurement equipment with 60 years of experience in the industry. The Test and Measurement Division is an authorized partner of leading test equipment manufacturers including Rohde & Schwarz, Tektronix, Keithley, Keysight Technologies, and Fluke. We are seeking a dynamic individual for the position of Outside Sales Account Manager in the Test and Measurement sector. This role involves selling and renting state-of-the-art products such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and wireless communication testers to various markets including industrial, aerospace/defense, and communications. As an Outside Sales Account Manager, you will have the opportunity to become familiar with the Test and Measurement industry and engage with Engineering, Purchasing, Quality Control, R&D, and Manufacturing departments. You will work closely with our inside sales team to drive sales and rental volume for the Instruments division. The position requires maintaining current accounts while developing new business opportunities within the designated sales territory of Illinois and Wisconsin. You will be responsible for preparing sales presentations for key accounts and ensuring you stay informed about competitors' activities and strategies. This position reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager and involves face-to-face contact with customers, daily phone calls, bi-weekly sales meetings, and joint sales visits. You will also be required to maintain accurate records in our Salesforce CRM database, ensuring that all sales activities are documented and tracked effectively. Our Inside Sales team will support your daily efforts to drive sales revenue, making collaboration essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain current accounts and develop new business to generate rental and sales volume for the Instruments division.
  • Engage in face-to-face contact with customers, along with daily phone calls and bi-weekly sales meetings.
  • Conduct joint sales visits with the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Develop sales revenue from a given geographical area and prepare sales presentations for key accounts.
  • Keep abreast of competitors' activity and latest strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records in the Salesforce CRM database.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of outside sales experience within any category of the electronics industry.
  • BA/BS degree preferred, technical certificate, or equivalent Test and Measurement experience preferred.
  • Leasing experience is a plus.
  • Technical background or experience in the electronics industry is a plus.
  • Strong sales and closing skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
