About the position

The Outside Sales Account Manager is responsible for selling products and services to an established residential customer base, focusing on increasing business annually while developing new accounts. This role requires building strong customer relationships, analyzing account potential, and utilizing company techniques to identify opportunities within the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for all account-specific matters.
  • Build strong customer relationships to maintain existing business and acquire new customers.
  • Develop new business with existing customers by analyzing account potential and identifying opportunities.
  • Utilize company techniques to identify opportunities within the industry for customers with similar needs.
  • Display or demonstrate product and service offerings using available resources.
  • Prepare sales contracts for customers and coordinate with relevant departments.
  • Utilize CRM software to plan and document sales efforts.
  • Stay up to date on existing and emerging products and technologies.
  • Participate in sales planning and review activities.
  • Attend sales meetings, training, trade shows, or other industry-related events.
  • Coordinate with staff members in other departments working on the same account.
  • Report competitive conditions and customer feedback to management.
  • Adapt productively to changes and handle assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of sales experience in the residential industry.
  • Extensive product knowledge of relevant products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation and selling skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prepare and conduct presentations.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret business documents.
