About the position

The Outside Sales Account Manager is responsible for developing a portfolio of accounts by engaging with local purchasing decision-makers in the packaging manufacturing industry. This role focuses on building and maintaining client relationships, identifying business opportunities, and providing tailored solutions to meet customer needs. The position requires a strong background in packaging manufacturing, particularly in corrugated box manufacturing, and involves both local and occasional longer-distance travel to meet clients.

Responsibilities

• Identifies business opportunities by evaluating prospects in the industry.
• Researches and analyzes sales options.
• Sells products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects, recommending solutions.
• Maintains relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance.
• Identifies product improvements or new products by staying current on industry trends and competitors.
• Learns new design innovations related to packaging.
• Understands customer's manufacturing process as it relates to shipping containers.
• Negotiates terms for price adjustments.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge through workshops and publications.

Requirements

• 4-6 years in business-to-business outside sales, preferably in the printing/packaging industry.
• Prior experience selling to manufacturers in multiple industries.
• Current Driver's license is required.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Highly organized and able to shift priorities based on customer needs.
• Motivated to build excellent client relationships.
• Proven ability to achieve sales quotas.
