About the position

As an Outside Sales Account Representative, you will be responsible for selling maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplies along with other products to an established portfolio of multi-family housing customers, specifically apartment communities. This role is crucial for maintaining and driving sales within your designated territory, which includes the NorthWest San Antonio and Medical Center/Rim area. The position offers a competitive base salary complemented by a sales incentive bonus, and you will be provided with a laptop/tablet, cell phone, and coverage for monthly expenses. Your primary responsibility will be to profitably grow sales to achieve yearly sales goals as a sales consultant for both current core industries and emerging markets. This includes prospecting new accounts, retaining existing accounts, and increasing opportunities with current customers. You will be expected to develop and sustain sales relationships with key decision-makers and influencers at all levels of the organizations you serve. Additionally, you will manage sales volume with an existing group of customers while successfully prospecting to expand the customer base. The role requires you to develop and implement strategic plans to enhance business presence in your assigned area. You will also be responsible for sharing market and competitor information with relevant channels within the organization and establishing strong working partnerships. Participation in monthly business meetings for company-sponsored associations and local trade shows, as well as regional or national activities, will also be part of your responsibilities. This position necessitates the operation of a company vehicle or personal vehicle, with such operation occurring consistently for more than 20% of the average work week. An acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report is a requirement for this position. The nature of the work requires increasing independence, with guidance provided only on unusual or complex issues. You may also provide general guidance or training to junior-level support or professional personnel.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Typically requires a BS/BA in a related discipline.
  • Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA with 2-4 years of experience in a related field.
  • Business to business (B2B) field sales experience with large volume of product lines.
  • Knowledge of facilities products such as hardware, electrical, lighting, and more.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Salesforce, or similar CRM.
  • Experience with consultative selling/solution selling preferred.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals in a remote position.
