About the position

The Outside Sales - Business Development Manager position at Atlas Machine is a full-time role focused on promoting a range of products and services, including compressed air and vacuum equipment, system controls, engineering services, and rental equipment. This position is critical in representing the company and driving sales growth through strategic account development and new opportunity identification. The successful candidate will work closely with team members and key OEM suppliers to deliver optimal solutions to clients, ensuring that the products offered meet the specific needs of the customers. In this role, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for interpreting relevant specifications, selecting appropriate equipment, and ensuring product suitability for various applications. The position requires the development of solutions in the field of compressor and vacuum equipment, preparing quotations, and presenting proposals to potential clients. Regular reporting to the Sales Director is essential, as the manager will define and prioritize selling strategies aimed at fostering business growth and development. Additionally, the role involves analyzing specifications and drawings to fully comprehend the scope of requests from clients, ensuring that all proposals are tailored to meet their needs effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop key accounts and find new opportunities utilizing a strategic plan
  • Work closely with all team members in a collaborative sales effort
  • Work closely with key OEM suppliers to offer the best possible solutions
  • Interpret relevant specifications, select equipment and ensure product suitability
  • Develop solutions in the field of compressor and vacuum equipment
  • Prepare quotations and present proposals as required
  • Submit periodic reports to the Sales Director defining and prioritizing selling strategies which will lead to business growth and development
  • Analyze specifications and drawings in order to comprehend the scope of request

Requirements

  • College degree (High school diploma with applicable experience may be considered)
  • Three to five years of related experience in industrial equipment sales (preferably air compressor experience)
  • Aptitude and proven record in developing leads, interpreting requirements, presenting bids, and negotiating contracts
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM preferred
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Flexible scheduling is necessary
  • Willing to travel within the assigned territory 80% of the time
