About the position

The Distributor Sales Consultant (DSC) is a sales solution specialist responsible for managing and growing a designated territory in Wisconsin. This role focuses on expanding salon sales by utilizing manufacturer education and sales resources, while actively engaging with customers through various channels, including social media. The DSC is expected to meet sales goals, develop customer relationships, and promote beauty products effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Identify key accounts within the territory and establish an efficient route for customer growth.
  • Demonstrate and assist customers in developing and implementing in-salon promotions and programs.
  • Determine customer needs and offer appropriate products and services.
  • Communicate sales initiatives and achieve corporate sales goals in collaboration with vendors.
  • Respond to all communications within 24 hours.
  • Analyze accounts to identify necessary brand support and promotions.
  • Conduct in-person visits to execute sales goals and manage customer relationships.
  • Comply with procedures for processing returns and completing required documentation.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including order entry and customer information maintenance in Salesforce.
  • Utilize social media for customer engagement and product promotion.
  • Conduct product knowledge classes both in-person and virtually.
  • Communicate regularly with the Manager regarding sales progress and follow-up plans.
  • Attend meetings and events, and assist with setup and dismantling of displays.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of outside sales experience or beauty industry experience with a focus on consultative selling.
  • Residence within the assigned territory.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control systems and visual merchandising is preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of social media platforms for business development.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Salesforce, Outlook, and Oracle.
  • Ability to build an online community and create social connections.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with iPad is a plus.
  • Knowledge of visual merchandising techniques.
