About the position

The Outside Sales & Design Consultant at The Container Store is a dynamic role focused on providing exceptional service through premium custom designs and organizational solutions for customers' homes. This position involves managing all phases of customer projects, from in-home consultations to design and installation, ensuring a seamless experience. The consultant is responsible for building a repeat clientele and generating leads, contributing to the overall success of the Custom Space Outside Sales and Design team.

Responsibilities

• Consistently meets or exceeds personal sales goals and positive customer net promoter surveys.
• Designs and sells complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions for all areas of a home.
• Establishes trust and rapport with customers to understand their needs and present customized plans.
• Manages multiple customer projects with attention to detail and timely follow-up.
• Develops clientele and new leads through networking and referrals.
• Collaborates with Store Leadership and corporate partners to complete projects from inquiry to installation.
• Adheres to The Container Store training and processes when interacting with customers.
• Uses company tools to manage customer relationships effectively.
• Provides feedback to leadership on sales and service opportunities.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding company and customer information.
• Arrives promptly to all scheduled appointments.

Requirements

• College degree preferred.
• 2-5 years of outside sales experience preferred, with custom closets experience being a plus.
• Proven track record of exceeding sales goals.
• Self-starter with strong organizational skills and creativity.
• Knowledgeable about design principles and the custom space industry.
• Reliable transportation for travel to customer homes.
• Valid automobile insurance and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records report.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and Salesforce.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner.
