About the position

The Sales Engineer is responsible for driving growth and expanding direct sales and profit margins within assigned accounts and territories. This role involves establishing professional relationships with key personnel in customer accounts and meeting targets for profitable sales volume and margin dollars. The position is remote, primarily serving northern California and Northern Nevada, and is part of Videojet's North America Commercial Organization.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the value of Videojet coding, marking, and imaging products and services to customers within the specified geographic territory.
  • Understand Videojet's value proposition and customer needs to prepare and negotiate contracts successfully.
  • Develop and share customer and market trends and competitive intelligence with counterparts to capitalize on potential opportunities.
  • Develop appropriate sales volume, pricing, and standard margin forecasts and adjust for market changes.
  • Build strong, long-term customer relationships based on value to contribute to Videojet's industry leadership.
  • Conduct revenue-generating activities in the specified sales territory sustainably and resource-efficiently.
  • Prioritize opportunities for equipment sales growth and specific actions required to capture them.
  • Improve sales efficiency and effectiveness through the use of sales tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required, preferably in a Technical or Business field.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years technical sales or account management experience in a business-to-business capital goods selling environment.
  • Direct sales experience in the marking and product coding industry is an asset.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel 20% to 40% of the time.
  • Experience with SFDC and Strategic Selling skills is a plus.
