About the position

Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Regional Outside Sales Rep or Sales Engineer to develop and maintain a sales pipeline focused on delivering growth and revenue objectives within the Northeastern U.S. market and region. This role is pivotal in driving regional sales activity for Engineered Systems, Products, and Services within the industrial and power generation markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and closing business opportunities in marine and power generation sectors according to specific targets. This involves engaging with new and existing clients through consultative selling techniques prior to requests for quotations, ensuring a strong understanding of market-specific solutions and needs. The position requires maintaining and developing knowledge of segment-specific solutions, evaluating inquiries, and registering opportunities information. The Regional Outside Sales Rep will initiate contact with assigned and new potential accounts, cultivating strong business relationships with key decision-makers to ascertain leads. The role also includes developing and delivering effective sales presentations, maintaining awareness of company activities, industry trends, and government regulations, and creating sales and service plans to ensure customer satisfaction and revenue growth. Regular communication with management through activity reports is essential, as is participation in trade shows and conferences related to the industry. The candidate will manage customer relationships and communicate customer feedback internally through proper channels, ensuring that the company remains responsive to client needs and market changes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and close business opportunities in marine and power generation according to specific targets.
  • Develop new and existing client base through early engagement and consultative selling prior to request for quotation.
  • Maintain and develop knowledge of segment/markets specific solutions and needs.
  • Evaluate inquiries and register/maintain opportunities information.
  • Initiate contact with assigned and new potential accounts, cultivating good business relationships with key decision makers, and ascertaining leads.
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations in an effective manner by technical presentations.
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of company activities, industry trends & government regulations.
  • Develop sales plans to ensure order and revenue growth.
  • Develop service plans to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Keep management informed through regular activity reports and communications.
  • Participate in trade shows and conferences related to the industry.
  • Manage customer relationships and communicate customer feedback internally through proper channels.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills; interpersonal and business savvy.
  • Ability to operate as a team player.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience in marine and/or power generation market segments.
  • Experience in the controls and/or automation industries.
  • Experience with Woodward products is an advantage.
  • Outside sales and customer service experience.
  • Proven record of identifying, qualifying, pursuing, and capturing opportunities with a track record of success.
  • Demonstrated networking capabilities among various communities and customers.
  • Fluency in English; other languages are welcome.
